Youth is wasted on the young

7.11.2016 Montag

After foundations, I tried to get an account statement printed from DB, but they told me they can't do that (wtf?) so I went to the library to print out one online.

In the Kartenbüro, they have a wallace and gromit poster. Cool!

I don't like cacti.
Today was the first day of Deutsch classes. I feel like I already forgot a lot. It's very challenging.

I started playing the closed beta for Gwent, the Witcher's card game. Really interesting mechanics and mind games. Not bad, but later they nerfed my deck.

8.11.2016 Dienstag

I walked to the Ausbeländerhörde for my visa appointment. I thought it would be a lot more strict, but the woman was very nice and helped me through everything. She only spoke German. I didn't understand, but we got through it. Thank God for the Deutschkurs- it wasn't the first time I'd seen an application and knew some of the German words. 100€ fee. I told her I would be studying for 2 years, and she said it was okay.

Contextual headers are really cool. Unfortunately, I had to drop Aikido. :(

Remind me of Klaus lmao
Fast like bulls, huh? SOUNDS LIKE A LOAD OF
Things are starting to look festive!~

They're literally building these. That's cool.

There was a student-run breakfast thing going on in our school building. Nice!
Waffel :3
I love pudding or custard-type things. This was really sticky.

I don't really like apfel in pies and stuff, but I tried a strudel. The outside is really flaky and crispy. Good stuff. Die apfeln war nicht zu suß. That's a good thing.

The gym requires that you have a towel. "Fitness towel". I also bought a lock.

9.11.2016 Mittwoch

Trump is the next president of the US. Everyone is losing their shit.

Cheddar is pretty hard to find around here. I love cheddar.
10.11.2016 Donnerstag

Prepare yourself- for these next 4 years lmao

Luise and I went out to buy a toaster today. We bought one at the Saturn at Europa Galerie and also checked out the Diskontopassage. We ate lunch at a small Thai place and I bought a rice cooker, too.

It's very homely. I love it.
Luise ordered a dunkel resinudeln (soy sauce base). It wasn't too salty; rather, there was a really good soy flavor. Better than I expected. The noodles were perfectly cooked and delicious.

I got the Tom Yam. Pretty standard, and pretty good.

I really wanted that sour, tangy, spicy chili sauce, and this place had it! It was so nice to have it again. My mouth waters thinking about it.
Everything is tidy.
I bought some. It's got a real healthy-taste to it. I like it.
We spent a lot of time trying to pick out a decent toaster. I chose this because there are a lot of oversize breads.
This rice cooker is definitely the cheapest one I've used, but it's a much smaller mess to clean than scraping rice off the bottom of a pot.
Luise said she hasn't had curry before. Gotta make some.
Koreans can't live without kimchi. Facts.
I wanted Luise to try these, but the opportunity never came and I ate these myself.
These are interesting, but I don't recommend it.
Unfortunately, these were soft. When you eat 다꽝, you really want a crunch.
I keep thinking I want to make kimchi, but it would make the fridge smell something awful.

I've been spending a lot of money. I justify them as initial costs. I'll have to budget myself strictly later.

I still can't get over the fact that there are 3 supermarkets right next to each other. The consumer is truly winning here. Aldi and Lidl are a tier higher than Netto, and Fridel is a tier higher with Edeka.
12.11.2016 Samstag

There's a Slovakian tradition where they buy a carp and keep it alive in their bathtub for a few days before it's killed and eaten. That's crazy. I don't want to eat stuff that's been in my bathtub. Or use my bathtub after a fish has been in it. NOT JUDGIN' THO.

Album art for my next mixtape.

13.11.2016 Sonntag

I've been trying to get started on schoolwork, but no dice. Too intimidated. I helped my friend with his CV, but the way French people like their CVs is much different than in America.

Luise let me try this. It's sweet chestnut spread. Tasty!

Imagine a normal cake. Nothing exciting. Now imagine that same cake covered in chocolate. F R E A K I N G AMAZING!!!

Spiderman is a funky pose at a comic book shop.

Lmao they have TWO spidermen! "Spidermen" sounds wrong. I'd rather say Spidermans.

We had hot pot at the China restaurant in alt-SB. We were a big party, I'd say at least 20 people from coli. I walked in, and there was a Korean church group eating there at the same time, and the waitress directed me to their table. I was like, wait a minute, this isn't my group. Hahaha.

I was pleased to see fruit.
Fortune cookies don't change. Hot pot here was okay, but I wouldn't come back again. Personally not the biggest fan of hot pot, but this place was average at best.
