August 2017
Finally made it home. It's my first time back in 10 months.
| REALLY missed this. |
| Fresh figs from our garden. I'm so spoiled. |
| Missed this douchebag |
| Love you, Yoonie |
| Artesia public restroom- I mean, library. I can't wait for it to open! |
| OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YAYYYYEERRRRR |
| Okay, Koreans, you are going TOO far. Who puts both thousand island AND ketchup on salad? This legit ruined my meal. |
| The chicken wasn't bad, but definitely unimpressed. At least they had a beer tower. |
| I use these when exercising. Trying to deal with a cable sucks ass, especially when you're running and you have to hold onto the cable. Ruins your momentum, especially when you need to hold that momentum for 2+ hours. |
| GOOD boba. |
| 삼겹살, Korean bacon. |
| Brother gave me a fidget spinner that is also a BT speaker. I really liked it, but I lost it at the park when we went exercising. :'( I'll buy another one one day; maybe they'll have improved it by then (it sucked for actual spinning). |
| Oh YAYER |
| I eat like a King at home. So good. |
| Life is all about the small things. The many, many small things. |
| I have the luck of finding decent people and the pleasure of calling them my good friends. Friends who treat me well, better than their family, even. I'm happy to find people who value my friendship. Every little act of generosity, kindness, trust is another reminder that humanity is not lost. Yes, blood is thicker than water, but friends choose each other. And they make that choice again and again. People you can respect, yet roast. Hang out with no agenda. Share a meal with, exchange perspectives, try to understand. Encourage you to become the best version of yourself. They want to have fun, but more so have fun WITH you. I value that; I value them. Cheers, to a bond and a future we are building together. |
| Mom's homemade fig jam. Delicious. |
| Tacos~ <3 |
| I'd rather buy cat attractant |
| FUCK cheese foam. Seriously. |
| OHHHHHHHH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYEERRRRRRRrrRrr |
"No more pizza"
What a sad sentence. |
| The pretentiousness starts before you even walk in. |

| What a nice table. Too bad I can't take it. |

| I'm not a sours guy lmao |
| I REALLY missed this. Claussen produces the best pickles I've ever eaten. |
| I like spicy food, but this is just inedible. It's too spicy. I couldn't even eat half of it. |
| A BEAR |
| Korean essential: Cheese corn. |
| Love this stuff. |
| I can still taste the tanginess of the fish sauce. Yum! |
| Cute naruto in the ramen. |
| >Improves the taste |
| Fire at the top of a water fountain |
| Pretty! |
| "WORST KOOSH" |
| The state of politics as I know it |
| mmmmm |
| MMMMMMMM 🔥 |

| Parents had a great time in MX, and brought back some interesting stuff. |
| Kookhee monster |
| The 붕어빵 shells are better fresh. |
September 2017
| What the FUCK |
Why can't I
hold all these pickles?
These aren't as good as Claussen :( |
| This tasted EXACTLY like liquid smoke. I could not drink it. |
There is a runaway trolley barreling down the railway tracks. Ahead, on the tracks, there are five people tied up and unable to move. The trolley is headed straight for them. You are standing some distance off in the train yard, next to a lever. If you pull this lever, the trolley will switch to a different set of tracks. However, you notice that there is one person tied up on the side track. You have two options:
Do nothing, and the trolley kills the five people on the main track.
Pull the lever, diverting the trolley onto the side track where it will kill one person.
Which is the most ethical choice?

| Watermelon wrap |
| My first time having watermelon with mint. Pretty good, I recommend it. |
| Literally 3 pieces of pasta |
| Excellent duck. Very meaty, not fatty/hard to eat. |
| I really didn't like this dessert |
| This came out the worst. I knew it wouldn't be like the pictures online, but seriously? |
| Habanero mangoes. |
| True night of debauchery. Banh mi AND fried chicken. |
| Soooooo gooooood |
| Love 떡빵, and this is just like it. |
| Tommy's burgers disappointed with this. I didn't know you could make chili so flavorless. |
| I'll put MY whole shebang right in her sockarooni |
| If this isn't cultural appropriation, I don't know what is |
| Jimjom's favorite bakery |
| Really squishy and interesting. VN eat a lot of coconut in their desserts. |
| This was the BEST version of this I've had of this, hands down. It was fresh, hot, and the outside was so unbelievably crispy. The inside was chewy, soft, and warm. What a treat. I highly recommend it. |
| BUTT |
| New place, but so out-of-the-way that you wouldn't see it unless you tried. |
| Their specialty is egg tarts. |
| They also have egg-mochi tarts. Not a fan. |
| This is just strawberry cake with that Chai knees style cake cream inside. Pass. |
| I like Chinese bakery crackers like this. Namely their green tea ones. |
| The Popeyes at the Source is SHIT! Not fresh, biscuits too salty. I hope they get better once the Source gets more popular. |
"Mom, I want to be LEGO batman."
"Batman? Cool, I'll get a costume"
"Not batman- LEGO batman!" |
| Firmly grip your partner's spine |
| Our dogs lmaoooo |
| You can style the hair like a troll doll. |
| Target is a lot more fun than I expected |
| Too poor for a gym membership? Just hit up target and "practice". |
"Connect 4 is a solved game. You can't beat me"
-Me, before losing to my sister |
| My new favorite picture of my mom and sister. |
| A napoleon. My mom is in search of the perfect napoleon. |
| And me? Eclairs. |
| TACO TUESDAY |
| I'm happy there's a cave story fan here. |
| What a BEAUTIFUL fruit tart. Most of the fruit was aiite. It's cheap, too! Go to Porto's! |
| Building a computer isn't easy, even with all the help I get from Tim. |
| Best penny I've spent. |
| Installed this, changed my outfit, promptly uninstalled it. |
| UCI has changed a lot. |
| They know what we want. |
| I love whole foods! Their bakery is bangin'. |
| At one point she put both her hind legs in the air. |
| I absolutely love this yellow. Too bad this is too big for me to take back to DE T_T |
| I wish the 2 player mode wasn't broken. |
| Croissant donut. I think this is one of those where I'd rather have each separately. Nice try, though. |
| Nice, soft, sponge cake with a light strawberry flavor. |
| OHHHHHHhhHHHhhHHhHhhhHHHhHhh YAAAAaAAAYYYEEeeerRRRRrRRrrrRRRR |
| I will NOT miss all these mosquito and flea bites. How did I get so tasty? I need to eat more garlic and onions and stuff. |
| Delightfully spicy, packed with herb-y flavor, and crispy. It takes skill to make something like this. |
| I finally tried it! |
| I have to say, this is better than a lot of meat-based burgers I've had. I think it's weird that they tried to make it bleed, but the taste is all there. Texture is 90% there, too. I approve and recommend. |
| A monstrous, REAL drumstick. Thanks, Jimjom. |
| i AM the chichenspeet. |
| It's a little unappetizing. |
| I did not know they called them "mums" |
| I love subway. In Cerritos, you have to go to the one in the Ralphs plaza. They hook it up. |
Last meal before I leave. It's been real, everyone. See you in a year.
Also, Claussen pickles are still the best I've eaten. |
October 2017
Heading back to Saarbrücken
| What the hell kind of first-class art is this? |
| I knew Mimmo would put this in my bag. In the end, I entertained her. |
| Mofu mofu. It's kind of comforting to squish it. |
| I made sure to get some French essentials before heading back. |
| Thank you, Lena. I personally don't think oregano goes with figs, but I enjoyed trying the combination. The figs themselves are great! |
| This is where translators have their exams :O |
| British Bake-off night |
| Night at Sam's bistro. I like the place, kitchen's open late, but smoking is allowed in here, and I'm not a fan of that. |
| mfw we didn't have enough bread but i thought we would've |
| Hi new colis! HELLO schwenker. Thanks, Peter (iirc), for bringing sauerkraut and grilled onions. It's actually the first sauerkraut I've eaten here. |
| Thanks for the pic, Hali. |
The Alter Särkower is AWFUL. Apfelschorle, take out all the sweetness, add some ass, and that's what it tastes like.
And not the good kind of ass. |
| Aftermath of our foyer remodel. Quite a nice night, and the new decorations are great. I have nothing against the old pictures of Prague, though. |
| I wouldn't mind learning how to write shorthand. |
| What a nice, large mirror. Too bad I have no space for it. I think someone took it, because it was gone the next day. |
| Holy moly. Never been into the Zing restroom before. |
| Make-your-own wafers :O |
| It looks comfortable and is pretty cheap. I didn't pick one up, though. |
| Even though they're from my favorite bäckerei here, they're not as good as the French ones :'( |
| Easiest trigger of my life. You can't just end on a comma, |
| Can't call yourself a sauce boss and not eat sauce. |
| They have different recommendations for what to put the sauce on, depending on which language you speak. Interesting. |
| Inside the Seelenraum (Soul room). The lamp and the walls light up if you plug them in. |
| First time having fruit in curry. NOT A FAN. |
| Turkish delight~ |
| Beautiful, and not too sweet. |
| Who is doing this |
| Great seeing you again, Debbie. I hope you enjoy China! |
| My halloween costume. A lot of people didn't get it, until I busted out the wand. |
| And no, I'm not Tommy Wiseau. I DID NOT HIT HER- I DID NOT. |
| Luna Lovegood, Dolores Umbridge, Severus Snape |
| Smashing decorations. Marie and her flatmates did such a fancy job. Showing all this halloween spirit really gets you in the mood to party and have fun. I loved it. |
| Decorations are lots of small things creating a wonderfully big, nice thing. |
| Fran-kize |
| They went all-out with the decorations, too! Crazy! |
It's taken me ages, but I'm finally caught up. I'm so relieved.
